The leather box is named ‘The Bookbox’ as it takes its origin from the beautiful old book-boxes, in which people would place their most valuable books to take extra good care of them.

This Bookbox is crafted in black, aniline leather on the exterior with a beautiful dark blue on the internal base. This is our magnum leather Bookbox, but it comes in three other sizes; small, medium and large. Apart from this black and blue colour combination, the leather Bookbox also comes in a beautiful dusty grey tone with a soft turquoise base.
In the office the magnum leather box is an ideal storage solution in large meeting rooms and Boardrooms, for notebooks, pens, remote controls, connectors, post-it notes and whiteboard markers. With The Bookbox you have these items right at the table, where you need them, but without having the mess. Many offices have chosen the magnum leather box instead of a shelf or drawer system, not only saving space but saving the cost of a bigger piece of furniture, keeping the office or meeting room tidy and everything you need within reach.

The Bookbox is our bestselling box and was the first of August Sandgren’s aesthetic storage boxes. It is an iconic box with a design that dates back to August Sandgren himself, 100 years ago. The Bookbox is made in various sizes and material and the colour combination is composed by the renowned Danish designer, Margrethe Odgaard. Margrethe designed the colour universe with inspiration from mineral rocks and each box has one colour on the exterior and another colour in the bottom inside the box. We can make bespoke colours for orders above 50 units.

It was during a personal search for storage solutions that the vision for August Sandgren originated. Crafted by hand in the best available materials
Each August Sandgren object is crafted by hand in Portugal by a fourth-generation family of craftsmen. They are not only incredibly talented, but also very dear to us.
The leather and fabrics that we use are all sourced in Europe and from leading tanneries offering transparency; from the origin of the hide to their Oeko-tex certified tanning processes.
Today, most of our objects are crafted in surplus materials sourced from the world’s leading furniture and fashion brands – we are not only very proud to contribute to waste reduction, but also to work with a quality that does not get any better!
It is easy to keep your object beautiful
We craft our objects to last – both in their construction and in our choice of materials. The construction is perfected in every aspect to ensure that it lasts, and to a large extent, so will the leather. The leather will, however, patinate, which we believe is part of its beauty and a testimony to how natural a product we create. To maintain our objects in the best possible way, and to keep it moist, you should leave it out of direct sunlight and every couple of years, treat it with leather grease – just use a soft, clean, cotton cloth and a thin layer of grease, and that’s it!
Make it personal!
All our leather objects can be personalised with name or initials. It is a small addition with a huge and valuable potential for appreciation from the receiver – that person being yourself or someone dear to you.
Personalising your object is easy and only increases delivery time with a maximum of two-three days.
